Diver-down flag and alpha flag with Florida distance rules: 300 ft in open water, 100 ft in channels

Divers and snorkelers are vulnerable to boat strikes. As a boater, watch for diver-down flags.

The red and white diver-down flag (diagonal stripe) indicates divers in the water. Stay at least 300 feet away in open water, 100 feet in rivers, inlets, and navigation channels.
