First Aid Basics

Every boat should carry a well-stocked first aid kit appropriate for the type of boating and distance from shore. The kit should be stored in a waterproof container and easily accessible in emergencies.

Essential first aid kit items include: various sizes of adhesive bandages, sterile gauze pads and rolls, adhesive tape, antiseptic wipes and solution, antibiotic ointment, scissors, tweezers, instant cold packs, and disposable gloves.
